The Graduate student dormitory application for the Fall semester 2020

Dear students, information regarding the Fall 2020 semester graduate dormitory application is as below:

I. Applicant eligibility: Non-dorm resident graduate students with household registered outside of Taipei City, New Taipei City and Keelung City for at least two years (including both parents), and excluding on-the-job students.

 

II. Application Date: 9:00 AM on July 15th (Wed.) 2020 to 5:00 PM on July 24th (Fri.), late applications will not be accepted.


III. Application Method: All applications are online at https://housing.ntu.edu.tw/graduate. Please log in with your student ID and national ID or residence permit number (new students please use the ID provided on your enrollment letter). Applicants may apply for both BOT and on-campus dorms, however should they draw both they may only choose one to live in. Those who wish to apply for BOT dorms, please apply at https://ntudorm.prince.com.tw/ starting 9:00 AM on July 15th (Wed.) and ending 5:00 PM on July 25th (Sat.).

 

IV. Students with the following conditions may receive priority when drawing dorms. If beds are insufficient, they will receive priority on the waiting list.

  • Disabled students, disability card needed.
  • Students from low income and mid-low income households, requires low income proof documents issued by the government with the applicant’s name on it. Low income students do not need to pay accommodation fee and mid-low income students can receive a 30% reduction in accommodation fee.
  • Offshore islands students, both parents and applicant must have their household registered on offshore islands for at least two years, requires household transcript.
  • Aboriginal students, requires household transcript.
  • Foreign students and overseas Chinese students in their first semester of study, requires passport and overseas Chinese proof, please have Overseas Students Advising Division verify overseas Chinese proof before uploading.

Students who fulfill the above requirements, please check the corresponding checkboxes when applying online, and upload the required documents before the deadline. Should your documents be insufficient or you are ineligible, we cannot provide accommodation.
 

V. Application Results: 2:00 PM July 29th (Wed.). The results will be announced on the application website, please check at https://housing.ntu.edu.tw/graduate, or the Student Housing Service Division’s website: https://osa_dorm.ntu.edu.tw/

 The priorities for dorm allocation is as follows:

  1. Disabled students
  2. Low income or mid-low income students
  3. Offshore islands and aboriginal students
  4. Transfer students in their first semester of study
  5. Foreign students and overseas Chinese students in their first semester of study
  6. Students of the Department of Medicine on public tuition in their first semester of study, whose household is registered outside of Taipei City, New Taipei City, Keelung City and Taoyuan City for at least two years (including parents); and those with household registered in Taoyuan City with special needs.
  7. At the date of application, students with household registered outside of Taipei City, New Taipei City, Keelung City and Taoyuan City for at least two years (including parents), and those with household registered in Taoyuan City with special needs.
  8. At the date of application, students with household registered in Taoyuan City for at least two years (including parents)
  9. Students with special needs and evidence (including Taipei-New Taipei-Keelung students)

VI. Check-In Information: Applicants who have successfully drawn a dorm, please bring your household transcript (includes applicant, both parents and relocation history), student ID or enrollment letter, and payment receipt. If discovered the student is not eligible for accommodation, then their residence will be revoked immediately. After successfully drawing a dorm and checking in, the student may reside until the normal year of graduation designated by their respective department, without having to apply again.
 

VII. Check-In Time: Starting September 7th 2020, students may check in at each dorm director’s office.

 

VIII. The dorms that may be drawn are as follows:

  • Downtown Campus Dorms (Males may draw 2nd Men’s Dorm and 4th Men’s Dorm, females may draw 4th Women’s Dorm and 6th Women’s Dorm)
  • Main Campus Dorms (Males may draw 6th Men’s Dorm, 8th Men’s Dorm, 1st Graduate Men’s Dorm, 3rd Graduate Men’s Dorm, females may draw 1st Graduate Women’s Dorm, 3rd Graduate Women’s Dorm)
  • Students may fill in preferences when applying. Students who draw a dorm or are put on a waiting list may exchange with other students after the announcement of external dorm transfer (usually three weeks after start of semester).

IX. Applicants who do not draw a dorm will be put on a waiting list and given a number, when new beds are available the people at the top of the waiting list will be accommodated. Such students will receive an email notification and can check the waiting list progress at https://housing.ntu.edu.tw/graduate. In previous years, the waiting list can accommodate 200 males and 100 females, but due to each year being different, we recommend you only refer to this number and keep expectations low.

X. The waiting list will progress until December 31th 2020, after that date it will be deleted.
